Park Terrace Gardens

Art Collection

My work was recently chosen as part of the Art Collection of Park Terrace Gardens. Seven of my works show above are featured in this exhibit.  All photos are from the Inwood and New York City area and we taken with my iPhone.

During the pandemic, I started taking daily walks with my husband. We started to slow down and notice beauty around us in different ways. I started to take pictures of what I liked and this practice slowly developed into macro photos that are close ups which evoke more surreal impressions. You may know what the picture is, but did you even notice it this way?  For example, each spring I would see this gorgeous iris outside our apartment. I looked closer and saw the flower details in new ways. Two photos in the collection are of the same flower but show the beauty in different ways.

Look at each picture closely. See if you see more than you might at first look. In the leave with drops of water you can see the reflection of the buildings around the entrance to our apartment building. Life offers us so much so fast. This art project helped me slow down and enjoy all the beauty of our world.

My hope is that my work  will help you slow down, look closer, and discover more beauty in every day.
